Britney Ross's Reading Class — Grade 2
In 2nd grade we have been reading fairy tales and learning about all the elements of a fairy tale including protagonist, antagonist, setting, patterns of 3, magic, problem, and solution or lesson learned. In writing we have been using those story elements to write our own fractured fairy tales where we change the characters and setting or the point of view to write our own version of a traditional fairy tale. To culminate the unit we performed readers theater with stories, The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs, The 3 Billy Goats Gruff, and Little Red Riding Hood.
