Ms. Roslyn's Class
Roslyn — Grade 2
2nd graders studied the life cycle of Monarch Butterflies. They went on a nature walk around the pollinator gardens at our school and picked some milkweed leaves with monarch eggs attached to observe the life cycle from egg to caterpillar. They then released the butterflies for their voyage to Mexico. Students then demonstrated their learning of the monarch life cycle through an academic choice project showing the stages of a monarch’s development. They chose to work as individuals or partners. They could choose to do stamp art, pasta art, puff ball art or drama.
