Back To School Plan Oct. 2020

Dear Families,

In case you missed the Buffy and Jessica show on Friday we wanted to send you the Back to School Plan in writing. Please reach out if you have any questions.

Francine Delany Back To School Plan:

 **There will be a K-1 virtual parent meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 20th at 12:00pm and 7:00pm. K-1 families please RSVP for what time slot works best for you. HERE is the RSVP link.**

Oct. 27th, 28th, 29th, 30th: Teacher Workdays for grades K & 1st. No remote learning for K-1 students on these days.

Nov. 2nd: K-1 students will return to school on Plan B.  Students in 2-8 will continue in remote learning.

  • A/B Schedule:

    • Mon. and Tues- Cohort A

    • Thurs. and Fri.- Cohort B

    • Wednesday- All Remote

    • School Day- 8:15-1:15

  • Bus Transportation will be provided for students who live within the Asheville City School District.

  • Nov. 19th– The Directorate will bring the next step proposal to the Board.  If the K-1 transition goes as planned and the community numbers continue to stay below a 5% Positivity rate, we will plan the next cohort of students to return to campus on Plan B. This next cohort would return to campus on November 30th.

This plan is contingent on Buncombe County staying at or below a 5% test positivity rate. If the positivity rate goes above 5% we will delay plans for plan B or send students back to remote learning until the positivity rate drops below 5%  for 2 consecutive weeks and pending board approval.
